QUIM 8425: Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Description

The multistep chemical synthesis of natural and unnatural products is studied. General strategies are examined which utilized retrosynthetic analysis and synthetic equivalents for the rational design of molecular construction. Stereochemical control is examined both from the substrate and reagent standpoint. Selective transformations are examined mechanistically particularly within the context of chirality transfer in asymmetric processes.
