Undergraduate Program

Chemistry is a vital and dynamic science of much importance to other sciences and modern technology. It establishes fundamental knowledge by studying the structure, properties, and reactions of matter. Chemistry helps us understand the various chemical processes in the world around us, and offers solutions to problems related to our daily lives, to health, and to the environment. It also promotes discoveries that can improve the quality of life. The Undergraduate Program strives to achieve the mision of the Department of Chemistry, which is to provide a sound academic formation, both theoretical and experimental, of competent scientists and professionals with expertise in chemistry.

In order to complete the bachelor's degree in Chemistry, students must complete a total of 130 credits, as follows:

  • General Education courses: 42 credits

  • College of Natural Sciences courses: 62 credits
Chemistry: 33 credits
Physics: 8 credits
Biology: 6 credits
Mathematics: 15 credits
  • Free Elective courses: 26 credits
